Securing the Energy Transition.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are rapidly becoming a critical component of modern power infrastructure, enabling large-scale integration of renewable energy, improving grid stability and supporting the transition to a low-carbon energy system. As the role of energy storage grows, ensuring the security, reliability and integrity of these systems becomes increasingly important. This presentation explores how local manufacturing, transparent supply chains and cybersecurity-by-design contribute to building resilient and trustworthy energy storage infrastructure in Europe. It highlights the importance of supply chain transparency, control over key system components and compliance with international standards to ensure the safety and bankability of large-scale BESS projects. The session will also address cybersecurity challenges related to EMS, SCADA and communication architectures, emphasizing the need for secure system integration and protection of critical energy assets. By combining advanced technology with trusted manufacturing and robust cybersecurity practices, energy storage systems can play a secure and reliable role in Europe’s evolving power landscape.
